What do you think about custodial sentences? Bang ’em all up or try out some more constructive penalties?

Interesting article, Jane… and I think many would agree that in such cases community service might well be more profitable all round. If properly supervised, of course. We wouldn’t hope to see anyone popping cosily into the pub for dinner a la Jeffery Archer, now, would we?
Properly supervised, yes. Hairy ex-sergeant major or sim presiding. Be so much cheaper and probably just as, or more, effective. Thanks for the comment xx
